CLIMBING WALL AWARD (CWA)

This new award, which UCR has been closely involved in developing, launched in 2008 and is designed for individuals who wish to teach top rope climbing and bouldering on indoor climbing walls and artificial towers. The course focuses on the safe management of groups and the coaching of movement skills. A second module covers group abseiling.

Prior to attending a training course candidates must be 17 years of age, have climbed indoors for 6 months and have registered with Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE).

Prior to attending an assessment candidates must be 18 years of age and have gained the relevant further experience required by Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE).
